The Principle of GanarajyaFebruary 9, 2007

"We differ where we differ, we unite where we need to be united" is the principle of creating the United Republics of South Asia or the URSA. The same principle will be applied in governing the Uttar-Purb Ganarajya (UPG). With all the earlier States or Pradesh assimilated into a single Ganarajya, this new entity will face a new challenge of individual identity of the different ethnic groups.

With the new rulings of the Supreme Court of the URSA and the subsequent rules of the Election Commission, no government entity or elected body can favour a minority or majority group identified by ethnicity, religion or language. An elected person represents all people inhabiting the district or constituency he/she is elected from. It is his/her responsibility for the wellfare of each and every individual of  that constituency. The elected members are bound by oath of office to get rid of narrow mindset of looking at the welfare of a particular tribe, caste, religious or linguistic group; and look beyond on broader human-sense.

This new principles were invented after a Task Force known as "NE-Task Force 2015" identified the root cause of all the in-fighting and insurgency of the North-East seen during the 1980s through 2000s was the favoritism of the the elected members towards his/her own ethnic, religious or linguistic group. Once, they can get rid of this narrow mind set and work towards welfare of all with a broader mind, ALL PROBLEMS WILL BE SOLVED.

Now, the question is how will one preserve one's ethnic heritage or language? The answer is simple - you do not need your elected member to be of the same linguistic group to read or write a book in your language! You do not need your elected representative to be Bihu-Konwar to celebrate Bihu! Their responsibility is legislation and administration - create infrastructure, wealth and economic opportunities; maintain peace etc for us. We can have  অসম সাহিত্য সভা and বড়ো সাহিত্য সভা side-by-side, we should not have any problem as long as there is no crime and everyone is busy generating wealth for himself/herself and for the nation !
